"Dixie Burns" is the name of the new special that BlueHighways TV is proud to air on our network. The special, which is part of Heartland Treasures will air on Tuesday, November 13th at 9:30pm ET.
The film begins with the closing of the Civil War. It illustrates the
struggle of the end and the trials of trying to get home after it is
over. Filmed in Tennessee and Kentucky, the story is told completely in
music and narration.
The short film is emotional, sentimental,
dramatic and not without action. Royal Wade had produced and directed
one of his previous videos that covered some 500 miles, which gave him a
leg up on directing a short film like Dixie Burns. One big difference
in this film, there were thousands on set, and a second change regarding
actual shooting, the quick video type clips had to go. “Shooting a film
verses a music video are two different animals all-together” said Royal
Wade “…it felt familiar, like I was home”.
Royal Wade Kimes has had
numerous hit songs of his own and has had songs recorded by Garth
Brooks, Diamond Rio, Gene Watson and others. He has won the Will Rogers
Award for Best album, Best video and his song “I’m An Ole Song” was
chosen as a Top 30 most popular song for the year of 2011 worldwide. He
is known as the 21st century Marty Robbins and his style of music has
been tabbed as authentic cowboy country.
