There are certain places that you find, as an outdoor lover, that have that effect on you. A particularly beautiful cove on the Upper Mississippi River, where I go in the Summer time. A beautiful part of the White River, that makes Table Rock Lake, in the Missouri Ozarks, a mountain stream that I found in the Colorado Rockies, the beautiful stretch of water in Parker, Arizona, where the Colorado River runs so clear and fine, and the small mouth bass are hungry all the time for whatever I throw to them. There is a isolated body of water, far back in the woods of Ontario, Canada, where we had to carry out boat and gear along a trail for about three miles to reach, and then fish this virgin water, where no one else had fished....well, you get the idea.
But, this stretch of bluff, hanging over the clear, clean water of Cedar Creek, is just special. It is a place to go, away from everything, and just talk to the Lord, pouring out your concerns, your fears, your hurts that only He can heal...and that is what this place means to me. I don't go there often, but each time I do, I come back stronger, more settled, eased in my mind.
This week, Denise and I have some tremendous pressures on us, just as a lot of other people do. Life is all about pressures and how you are able to handle them. I've been climbing mountains and dipping down into valleys, most of my life on the paths I chose. By God's Grace, I always come out on the other side and the adventure continues.
I won't be able to go out on the water today, too many chores to take care of, but just looking at the picture, and remembering my spot...gives me peace. God bless us all today. -Stan
