View From The North Country-Stan Hitchcock-February 3, 2013

Where it is 10 degrees and snowing. Denise and I have made a quick trip to Wisconsin for family business, and the change in temps is pretty intense. The picture is from our car window, showing the Upper Mississippi, frozen over so you could walk across it, at Guttenburg, Iowa. I love the Upper Mississippi, and fish it all Summer long, but I prefer it to be liquid, not solid.

Made the trip with XM radio and Classic Country all the way...music that will stick to your ribs, like Pinto Beans and Cornbread, with a big glass of Buttermilk.

Our son, Scott, is at home in the old Farm House, taking care of Buck and the horses and enjoying the Super Bowl. I should tell you that old Buck The Collie is armed and dangerous, and after he gets thru with you, the horses really get rough. Old Buck The Collie is head of farm security and
takes his job real serious.

Last time we were gone, the horses invited all their deer friends over to have a party and help eat my horse hay. i mean they partied down and like to have eat us out of house and home. You just can't leave those party animals alone for a minute. Old Buck the Collie was pretty disgusted by it all.  -Stan
