View From the Front Porch - Stan Hitchcock

Sunday March 10, 2013

I am never happier than when I am on my John Deere tractor, and today was a great tractor day. 72 degrees in Mid Tennessee, winter's weeds, leaves and other cold weather debris that accumulates on the old Farm House land, clearing it all away, while Denise cleaned out flower beds and did yard clean up. I cleaned down along the Deshea Creek that runs through out property, and after I was finished and had put the tractor away, I just had to go down and sit on a rock ledge by the creek and listen to the soothing sound of clean, clear water as it rushes along over solid limestone, making its way to the Cumberland River. When Denise got thru, I saw her wandering along the Daffodills, stooping to pick the choice ones that have come up early. She came back with a beautiful bouquet, placed them in a vase with fresh water and we enjoyed the aroma of fresh picked flowers as we had our cheese, Salsa, Chips and a sip of Red Wine for the stomachs sake.

God is good and His creation of Nature never fails to touch me, deep inside on a Sunday of love and quiet satisfaction.
With a weekend, such as we have enjoyed, the week to come will be a week of goodness as we go about what ever it is that we go about, full of Faith and strength, both supplied by the Lord, who Loves us. stan
