Rural Rhythm Records recording artist Mike Scott will
be hosting the WSM Midnite Jamboree on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at
the Ernest Tubb Record Shop on Music Valley Drive in Nashville. The
show is live at the Texas Troubadour Theatre and broadcast on WSM radio
and WSMONLINE.COM.
Scott and the Nashville Band which includes; Carl Jackson, Scott
Napier, Heath VanWinkle, Kim Gardner and Steve Day will be
performing along with special guests Carl Jackson, Larry Cordle &
Val Story, as well as, Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers. Saturday night’s show is part of a series of shows celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the “Grand Ole Opry Star” Ernest Tubb. “I was honored to have known Ernest Tubb when I moved to Nashville to work for Jim & Jesse & The Virginia Boys at The Grand Ole Opry in 1983 and later attended his funeral with Jim & Jesse in 1984. This date also marks the "10th Memorial" of the loss of my Dad...Charles Virgil Scott (6/23/31 - 2/15/04).” – said Mike Scott.
Mike Scott is seen by millions of TV viewers each week during prime-time on RFD-TV, (72 million households), performing with Ronnie Reno & The Reno Tradition on RENO’S OLD TIME MUSIC SHOW. He also is the host of the new music TV series BEHIND THE DREAM ™ currently airing on BlueHighways TV.
Mike Scott’s current album Home Sweet Home (Civil War Era Songs), released in 2013, will have two of the songs from the album performed in upcoming episodes for the new season of RENO’S OLD TIME MUSIC SHOW airing this spring. Scott, producer & performer on Home Sweet Home, assembled an all-star group of musicians to pay tribute to the popular parlor songs, minstrel songs and marching songs from this era, which are now known as traditional standards. Joining Scott on this album are awarding winning players Adam Steffey, Rob Ickes, Bryan Sutton, Aubrey Haynie, Tim Stafford, Mike Compton, Ben Isaacs, Jeff Taylor and Scott Miller
