View From The Front Porch- August 25, 2012

Me and Reno in 1986, sitting on the steps of the porch of Wynnewood in Sumner County, Tennessee. This is the spot where I started Heart to Heart that same year, asking friends to come out and sit in the shade of the big tree in the back yard of this historic old log stagecoach inn. Some of my fondest memories of music with friends was produced right here at Wynnewood. The old log inn, built in 1812 or so, was destroyed by a tornado that swept through Castalian Springs, Tennessee in February of 2008. It was a horrible tragedy, pretty much destroying the old village and everything around it. A Mother was holding her baby when the twister struck, destroying her home and killing the Mother. Next morning, emergency personnel sifting through the rubble, heard a baby crying and found the sweet baby lying in the grass of a field, several hundred yards away, seemingly unhurt save for scratches and bruises. Other good folks were lost also and since that time families have rebuilt and picked up the pieces of their lives. Wynnewood has also been rebuilt and opened again this last July. I intend to take the television cameras out there and do some new Heart to Hearts soon. God bless us all on this Weekend of fading Summer.        -Stan
