View From The River Bank- August 15, 2012

The Upper Mississippi River is quietly making its way South this morning without the usual robust urgency that seems to always be just below the surface of the Northern beginnings of the great Father of Waters. The sky is cloudy this morning and the air is cool, almost Fall like, and refreshing after the extreme heat that most of the Midwest, South and SouthWest has been living with for months on end. As I reflect on my life, as I tend to do every morning when I sit and have my coffee in the early hours of a new day, I do the reflection thing because I don't want to just let a day slip away without wringing every bit of awareness out of it with the colors, sounds, tastes and aromas that bless our lives every day. As I write this the sun, coming up and coloring the clouds is just breathtaking. Why would anyone want to lie in bed and miss early morning sunrises?  I wish for you, this morning, a beautiful sunrise, wherever you are, with the hope of a new day of cool breezes, bird choruses, closeness of family and a thankful heart. God bless us all.   -Stan
