Sun coming up over the Sycamores by the creek showing the promise of a
beautiful day in Middle Tennessee. Just reminds me why it is so nice
living in this part of the world during the Winter time. January with temps to get up near 60 today and approaching 70 by the end of the week.
The Long Hunters, who first came here in the 1780's, from the Virginia
colonies, and who went back there and brought their families back to
pioneer this unknown wilderness because they saw beyond the forests and
canebrakes, and knew this was a special land.
Big Foot
Spencer, who spent a winter here after his fellow hunters had gone back
to Virginia, living in a hollow Sycamore Tree just a few miles from our
old farm house, and later planting the first crop of cultivated corn
near the salt lick to be called Bledsoe's Lick, was sure it was special.
Living in the Cumberland watershed of Tennessee, where the air is
fresh, the water sweet and the folks all good...good morning to y'all
and have a good one with us. -Stan
