Stan Hitchcock-View From The Back Deck-May 12, 2013

Well, another special day has silently slipped away. A weekend of family, of special times with the Mother of my sons, with the son as he honors his Mother, with the Grandmother Thornburg, as each child, far away in different parts of the country, call to share their love for her.

And I, as an observer, and with love for all of them, sit and listen as the night peepers start, the lonely night birds call, the stillness of a beautiful night sky, with a sliver of moon hanging, kinda tilted to one side, like it was watching, with great interest, the human condition, as it unfolds below.

I tried to give Denise a quiet, restful day, free from stress and worry, with a family that loves her, and appreciates what she brings to all of us. She deserves our unconditional love, and accepts it with grace.

I hope that wherever you are, tonight, under this sliver of moon, that your day has been fulfilling, and that you feel love and appreciation. Man was not meant to be alone, God created us in pairs, and I hope you have found your pair, your special someone, and it is good, under your moon.

Sleep the sleep of satisfaction, knowing that tomorrow, we can start all over again, brand new, forgiven and protected. I start over every morning, as a matter of course, eager to see the first light come over the mountain. Another day of challenges met, destiny found, and always....a thankful heart.   Stan
