View From The Upper Mississippi- June 29, 2012

A beautiful morning on the water, as the Mississippi continues to rise from all the heavy rain in Minnesota and the Northern part of Wisconsin. The rising water is allowing me to get back in backwaters, brush and weedbeds that yo usually can't get into. Catching a few as I go along but nothing big yet. My son Scott is coming up to fish with me this weekend and it should be starting to get good by then. Trying to not think about the sorry state of affairs in our country right now with socialism becoming a reality....just staying on the water and wishing it wasn't happening. This isn't about politics...it's about a way of life
that I have enjoyed for 76 years...It's called personal freedom....and suddenly overnight it is changing. If you think that you are still in control of the choices in your life, well, you better pay attention because you are not. But, out on the water, I can focus on the beauty of God's creation and find some peace.     -Stan
